12 HOURS CURITIBA
With the increasing interest of drivers in endurance virtual races, the question arose: what about us from Brazil? Don't we have traditional events in the endurance racing scene?
The answer is: yes, we do!
One of the most traditional events in this context was the 12 hours of Curitiba.
This nationally prestigious race attracted the best in terms of drivers and cars to the competitions of human and machine endurance.
Grids filled with multiple car classes and grandstands full of enthusiasts eager to live and follow all the excitement that only these races provide! The audience wonders: who will resist to the end of the long and exhausting hours?
With that in mind, we at the organization, sought to fit Brazil into the world scenario of Endurance competitions in the virtual world and organized an international level competition, bringing this type of event literally for the first time to terra brasilis in a national track.
The Curitiba race was chosen for a very special reason, this great racetrack is being destroyed and there is a fight to keep it. We, lovers of virtual and real motor sport, cannot fail to pay attention to this cause. A great circuit like the one in Curitiba, responsible for bringing so many international competitions to Brazil and so important on the national scene, cannot be erased from the map in this way and deserves to host a large event to draw everyone's attention.
Even further, it is a way of honoring and revering everything that this great track has provided us.
A selective, technical and challenging circuit, the Curitiba International Circuit is loved by virtual and real motorsport practitioners. A track that is already cult and classic.
The period is early 2000's, years when the track was at its peak, it had just received the BPR with its McLarens F1, Ferrari F40 GTE, Dodge Viper GTS, Porsches 911 RSR, Corvettes Callaway among others. Those were also years when world Endurance was in full swing, with big brands developing incredible machines to compete on the entire calendar, including, to name a few, the Daytona 24h, 12h Sebring and 24h of Le Mans with cars that became consumer desire and filled the minds of lovers with dreams of what it would be like to see them up close and drive them! True modern classics.
Finally, that great desire to see these cars in Brazil was fulfilled! LMPs, FIA GTs, N-GTs and BTCCs from this great era of Endurance from desired brands such as Ferrari, Porsche, Audi, Bentley, Saleen, Dodge, Panoz, among others, are all here! Go run in Brazil! In Curitiba!
Now we no longer need to dream or wait! And you can participate!
Register your team, participate in the selective and guarantee your qualification.
Come and participate in this unique event! The first in the series!
Finally, here in Brazil, we will have an Endurance event on the world's virtual racing calendar!
THE SIMULATOR
A large event requires a robust and tested platform.
In addition, the platform needs to offer all the resources and flexibility necessary for the race to offer the best experience to participants.
The environment must be immersive, realistic and present all the characteristics of a real racing environment, containing tracks and cars that represent different eras of motorsport history.
For this reason we chose Assetto Corsa, a game launched in 2014 and which, according to recent surveys, is the second most popular and most played game in the world today.
The simulator has been receiving updates from the enthusiast community and remains current and superior to many of its more modern competitors.
By offering a flexible and open platform, it has a large group of collaborators around the world.
The Game also runs on the PC personal computer platform which is the most widespread among racing simulator enthusiasts and fans.
With all these benefits, it would be impossible to think of a better solution.
We created our version of the track, trying to reproduce as much as possible the thrill of riding on it, the bumps and the challenging layout.
With this choice we are sure of an epic race!
THE CARS
It's official! We, from the 12h of Curitiba organization, have settled an agreement with the renowned VRC and RSS studios which produce mods tha have quality and reliability that are recognized worldwide by the community as the best content for the Assetto Corsa simulator, which adds credibility to our event, in order to even meet the most demanding public in the world of virtual races.
We've made a settlement with the studios to guarantee a 50% discount on the purchase of mods to participate in the event.
The 12h of Curitiba is an event to honor our great track and deserves a heavy grid that represents the best in the world of endurance that could have raced in its best years.
Thus, we chose cars from an iconic phase of endurance, marking a change for the better in regulation that culminated in the sedimentation of both the prototype and GT series and also the Turismo.
The period is from 2002 to 2004 for Prototypes and GTs and 1998 to 1999 for Tourism.
In this way, we will have cars that fill the multi-class grid that an endurance event should have and that matches the platform we choose.
